Directions:
For the infographic essay assigned to your group (only do one essay, do not do all of them)

1.       The introduction is about beer’s and coffee’ s digestive processes and effect
2.       The body part shows the beer’ and coffee’s good influences, bad influences to brain and the best time to drink these two things.
3.       The conclusion writes about the main different influence of beer and coffee.

2) Provide the Rhetorical Situation of this essay
Purpose To show the different influence of beer and coffee to people’s brains

3) While you are only outlining the essay--not writing it word-for-word--you can still get a feeling for what this essay would look like. How is the infographic different from the traditional essay you outlined?
The traditional essay pays more attentions to text, and gives information by a lot of words. Different from the traditional essay, the infographic has fewer words and sends information by some vivid pictures. It is easy for us to know what the author says, and also can raise readers’ interests to read.

4) Strengths and weaknesses of the infographic: what does the infographic do better than the essay? What does the essay do better than the infographic?
Strengths: infographic is easy for reader to get and find information in pictures, rather than to read texts word by word. Besides, in compare and contrast paper, infographic can compare information and data more directly.
Weaknesses: Infographic just have fewer words, so it will eliminate some details. Besides, author explains less in the infographic; sometimes, readers cannot understand just by fewer words and pictures.

5) How does this qualify as an essay and not a series of pictures?
I qualify it as an essay, because it has main point that what the beer’s and coffee’s influences to people’s brains; has clear introduction, body and conclusion, and also compare the influences directly and expressly. Therefore, I think it is an essay, rather than a series of picture.
